Every Child Deserves a Family, a Home, and a Future

In Hawassa, Ethiopia, far too many children are growing up without the safety and stability most of us take for granted. Some have lost both parents. Others have been abandoned, forced to live on the streets, or separated from their families because of extreme poverty.

Behind every statistic is a child who deserves to feel safe, attend school, receive medical care, and go to sleep each night knowing someone will be there in the morning.

That is why the Caring Cup Foundation is proud to support Empower In Action’s Family for Every Child project—a family-style children’s home being created in Hawassa.

This is not a traditional institution. It is a real home: a small, nurturing place where up to 12 children between the ages of four and nine can live with consistent caregivers who know them, encourage them, and help them heal. The project will also provide three emergency spaces for children who need immediate protection.

Every child receives nutritious meals, healthcare, an education, counseling, and an individualized care plan. Most importantly, each child will experience something every young person needs—the feeling of belonging to a family.

Whenever it is safe and possible, social workers will help children reunite with extended family members. Families may receive parenting support, counseling, school supplies, bedding, or help establishing a small source of income. When reunification is not possible, the team will work toward another safe, permanent family solution.

This mission is especially meaningful to me because these children are not looking for something extravagant. They are looking for the most basic—and most important—things in life: a safe bed, food at the table, a chance to learn, and someone who believes in them.

The Caring Cup Foundation was built on a simple idea: something as ordinary as a cup of coffee can help create extraordinary change.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from donations and Caring Cup coffee sales supporting this project will go directly toward helping the children and building this home in Hawassa. Your support will help provide shelter, food, education, healthcare, emotional support, trained caregivers, and the everyday necessities that allow a child to feel secure.

When you purchase Caring Cup coffee or make a donation, you are doing more than contributing to a program. You are helping create a place where a frightened child can begin to feel safe. You are helping put a child into a classroom. You are helping provide a warm meal, medical attention, and the steady presence of people who care.

You are helping give a child a family, a home, and a future.

The need is urgent, but so is the opportunity. Together, we can turn compassion into action—one child and one cup at a time.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing that every child matters.
